By day, Jai Gaurangi also works as a pharmacist, balancing work with motherhood. She lives with her husband and daughter in Buckinghamshire, England.
About the Author
Joellen Putnam began her career as an analytical chemist and scientific project manager, then left the world of science to become a full-time stay-at-home mom. Her family is her greatest joy.
In 2006, Joellen was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 39. Her experience seeded her compassion to help others address the spiritual side of the disease. In 2015, she founded Activate the Cure, a ministry devoted to fighting cancer with prayer. Its mission is to partner with God in the arena of cancer by praying weekly with cancer fighters and longtime survivors, and praying for researchers working on new treatments and a cure.
Joellen has served extensively in prayer ministry, including Moms in Prayer International, Ten Days of Prayer, and other local and regional prayer movements. In 2020, she prayer-walked eighty miles from New Haven, Connecticut, to Northampton, Massachusetts, in ten consecutive days.
Currently, Joellen is the Director of Growth & Sustainability for Destiny Africa, Inc., a non-profit organization that supports the Kampala Children’s Centre in Uganda, Africa, a mission she has been involved with since 2009.
In her spare time, Joellen enjoys hiking, boating, kayaking, slow-stitching and fiber-arts weaving. She lives on the Connecticut shoreline with her husband, Marty, with whom she proudly shares two adult children.
